It is not a specific place, but at the same time it is quite tangible and can be found. The pier is for everyone and, perhaps, shared by many.
Is it part of a rocky pier in the sea, or a wooden boardwalk in a bend in a river, or simply a point in the sand on a beach? Maybe a pier is a post by the side of the road, where you can lean with your hand to shake the road dust off your shoes, or to support your back?
It seems good to know where your dock is. To know where to go when the air around you gets too thick. A place to come to, to feel a sense of belonging, to remember who you are and where you're going, or to break free and take a new step.

The pier is quite a romantic place, where rough deck planks meet the hope of finding your ship, which will unerringly take you away from the existing shore.
Trees caressed by the sun, water and wind, entwined with ropes stand motionless on the surface of the water. The water washes around them and reminds us that thoughts do not stand still either. The temptation to get into a moored boat is great. We do not have to be just the guardians and gardeners of our own little garden, where every corner is known, dug up. We can go out into the open sea and throw our fishing rods or nets there, into the unknown. Enjoy the process, without certainty about the result.
